The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, has received funding from the African Development Bank to implement the Uganda Biogas and Electric Cooking Project. The project aims to expand access to clean cooking solutions across the country through investments in biogas and electric cooking technologies.
As part of this initiative, the Ministry is inviting applications from qualified and experienced Ugandans for the position of Biogas Technical Expert.
Project Background
The Uganda Biogas and Electric Cooking Project supports national development priorities including Vision 2040, the National Development Plan IV, and Uganda’s updated climate commitments. The project contributes to improved health, gender equality, access to modern energy, climate change mitigation, and environmental protection.
The biogas component of the project will establish 47 biogas plants in public institutions such as schools, open markets, and farming communities.
Position Details

Key Responsibilities
The Biogas Technical Expert will provide technical leadership in the planning, design, construction, commissioning, and sustainable management of biogas plants. The expert will work under the Project Management Unit within the Ministry and will also oversee training of local artisans and ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards
